These ruins were so cool! We came here right after the downpour at Assos and guess what. It cleared up only long enough for us to get our lesson.

You see that tower on the far side of the theater? Yes, that's where we all huddled and tried to protect ourselves from the quick 5 minute storm that had the biggest raindrops ever!
But like I said, before that, we were able to get our lesson in. This was kind of our intro into the 7 churches that Paul wrote about in Revelation and we talked about the theme of OVERCOMING. In these early branches of the church people were missing truth and it was easy for false doctrine to get mingled in. As with today, there are always things that can distract us or trials that we face that must be overcome. This can only be done through the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We sang, We Thank Thee O God for a Prophet. How grateful I am for a living prophet on the earth today who receives revelation from our Heavenly Father and helps us stay on the right path.

This picture wasn't even taken here but for some reason it ended up in this post so that's where it will stay. Dr. Allred always has these great one liners and today he had to make a joke about the once in a lifetime opportunity we had to witness him with his two pairs of glasses on. It was quite the experience. What a crackup!
