Also a favorite. Rain and all. And when I say rain, I mean it POURED! We walked up a cobble stone street and then through some mud to get to the top of Assos. This picture was taken when the rain stopped for about 10 minutes while we were at the top. It overlooked the water and it was beautiful even amidst the clouds!
Probably not the best day to wear a skirt...but it wasn't raining when we left!
The temple of Athena
Paul and a few of his apostles stopped here to preach the gospel. Dr. Whitchurch shared with us about how Paul took a minute by himself and just kind of pondered life. He knew that his time left to live was short. He had dedicated his life to the Lord and spent every minute sharing the gospel, traveling all over Asia. The way that he explained it really impacted me because he made it so real. He shared an experience about when he was fearful for his life and just how real those emotions are and what someone must be feeling and thinking as they go through that experience.
