spring break

April 10, 2017
I had some options for spring break but none of them really came together so I took a last minute roadtrip HOME. It's the first spring break I've had since high school so it was quite refreshing to have an entire week off of school. I left Friday night and made it to Boise. And saw this amazing sunset. I seriously couldn't stop staring. It was out of this world!

I stayed at Kadyn and Jenna's house and it was so fun to catch up with them! Then I left early the next morning to finish out the drive. I made it back for the last little bit of conference. One of my favorite times of year! It's also so fun to watch it with your family. It brings back all sorts of memories and traditions.

Monday night was the college basketball national championship. I was devastated because my bracket was doing AMAZING until some unfortunate losses...so I decided to support my little brother and his love for UNC and they WON!

Tuesday we went and got lunch at Jimmy John's and saw Jordan. Mom showed me some cute shops downtown Tacoma and then we went to the new movie theater on Ruston Way to see Beauty and the Beast. It was so fun! And what an awesome little complex that have built down there. I just can't get over the PNW. That night we went to the temple and did sealings. It's always so fun to be at the temple with family.

I did lots of shopping with my momma. We went down to Portland and she took me to this stationary store called Oblation. It was theeeee coolest store! It has a letter press and everything was just the cutest. I'm still dying over it. It makes you want to write all the letters and buy all the paper and cards.

I also got this jacket and I'm OBSESSED. Isn't it the cutest??

We also went to visit my grandpa which was fun!

Thursday we met Jacob for lunch and then had Brad over for dinner. It was good to see him!

Friday we went to a funeral and then we went to Sister Gehring's for lunch. I just have so many fond memories there. I just love the feeling of being home. It is so good for the soul! After eating and talking, we played a duet together just for old time's sake. It was fabulous.
We went to Red Robin for dinner and then watched Moana at grandma's. I love quality family time!

The views on the drive home were fantastic as well. I wanted to capture those green evergreen trees!

I seriously don't know how I made it there and back all by myself. It is seriously such a big accomplishment! Usually I just sleep the whole way. But I was so alert and just loved it actually! I mean, it's definitely not something I want to do all the time, but it was so doable!

I listened to two audio books. The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls and David and Goliath: Underdogs, Misfits, and the Art of Battling Giants by Malcolm Gladwell. They are both good reads! They do have some language though.

I also listened to the conference that I missed. It was definitely worth it to drive home. Thank goodness for spring breaks!!
