4th of july

July 18, 2018
This felt like 4th of July WEEK! I haven't done this many activities for the 4th in a long time!

In the 7 years I've lived in Provo, I have never gone to see the hot air balloons. They do them as part of the Freedom Festival. It was super fun to see them all go up and learn a little bit about the process. It was too windy though so we didn't get to see them go up in the air, but it was still worth it even if we had to wake up at o' dark thirty.

That night I figured we needed to do a little bit of our own fireworks so we lit sparklers and some smoke bombs. Then we watched other fireworks going off in the neighborhood. There were some big shows!

The next morning we woke up and drove to Midway to go to this cute little restaurant. The Robins LOVE this town because it reminds them of Germany.

We ordered the skillets and they were delicious! It comes with potatoes, eggs cooked to your choice, and then you get to pick three toppings! We also go a blackberry crepe. It was so nice to sit outside and enjoy and fun breakfast!

Then we drove up to Cascade Springs which is this pretty little nature walk. I had never been here before!

We came home, took a nap, and then went to Provo for Stadium of Fire with the Blackners. It was the perfect way to end my favorite holiday! One Republic put on an amazing show and it made me love them even more! The fireworks were great and the company was great!

I'm so grateful for all the freedoms we enjoy, the opportunity to live in this great country, and to have an amazing day to celebrate it all!

4th of july

July 5, 2016
Once again, my favorite holiday proved do be nothing short of amazing. As tradition requires, we went to Stadium of Fire with the family. It was on the 2nd this year so we still had the rest of the weekend to celebrate!

Tim McGraw did amazing! That is a fine country man. He's a classic so it was awesome to have him there. The rest of the show was just pretty average. I mean, they can't outdo themselves EVERY year right? But I still loved every minute of being there, celebrating America, listening to good music, and enjoying an incredible firework show. As always.

Thanks grandma!!

Sunday, Mitch walked into my apartment and then said Mar! I need you to come out in the hallway with me for a minute. We walked down the hallway and then he took me to a window where I saw this.

The window doesn't quite do it justice. But it was one of the most BEAUTIFUL sunsets!

On Monday we had a BBQ with friends! It was a blast. Here is the master griller.

My cute roommates :) minus Kenz

That night I had to work. boooo. But Mitch came up so we could complete our celebration of the 4th with sparklers and pop-its!!

This is my happy. I'm grateful for this country, for the stars and stripes,
and for a beautiful holiday to remember how it all began!

Out of the 4 stadium of fires I've been to, this one was probably my favorite. Not even kidding. I just absolutely loved the whole thing! And it's so fun to be there with family!

It was seriously BEYOND fun to have Kenz here! I missed her!

Diet Coke and Mentos experiment! There were SOOO many bottles!

This is probably the one and only rock concert I'll ever attend but it was seriously so fun "rockin" out! And I was actually surprised how many of the words I actually knew to their songs! It was awesome!

the whole fam bam!

Stadium of Fire!

July 5, 2011
I had the opportunity to go to Stadium of Fire for the third time. Absolutely amazing! The 4th of July is my favorite holiday and since I didn't get to be with my family this was a great way to celebrate. David Archuleta is just so cute and I've loved him ever since he was on American Idol. He has such a great voice and he's so talented. And of course Brad Paisley is so great and an amazing performer. I loved all the songs he sang! The firework show was the greatest and they had a perfect selection of music to accompany it. Here are some highlights...

If you're ever in Provo on the 4th Stadium of Fire is a must-do!!!
